ICAE participated at the preparatory meeting for the 5th World Forum for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through Lifelong Learning preparatory meeting, held in Hamburg 7-8 November 2016, at UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL). 
ICAE’s representative, André Schläfli presented ICAE as an organization, as well as the ICAE`s topic for the  5th World Forum for Lifelong Learning which will be held 25-27. May 2017 in St. Petersburg.

Fifth World Forum to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals through Lifelong Learnings.
The general theme of the 5th World Forum is part of the "Program of sustainable development of the United Nations to the Horizon 2030" as well as in the framework o" Education 2030" of UNESCO. It is jointly prepared by the World Committee for the Lifelong Learning (CMA) and the State University of Leningrad, Pushkin (LSU) with the support of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, Hamburg (UIL), the International Council for Adult Education (ICAE) and UNESCO-UNEVOC Centre of Hong Kong. The videoconferences and round tables will be animated by high-level international experts, coming from various regions of the world. The Forum will accommodate approximately 1000 participants from, at least 70 countries. "LENEFORUM" which will accommodate this global event important is a modern complex of exhibitions and conferences, located in the historic centre of Saint Petersburg, on the island Vassilevski, and offers all the latest technological facilities. The discussions will be accompanied by a simultaneous translation in four languages: French, Russian, English, Spanish.
